Botox for Migraines

Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin that relaxes muscles with results that can last up to several months. Botox is made from Botulinum toxin and is best known for smoothing wrinkles around the eyes, face and neck. But today, Botox is used for many therapeutic purposes.
Botox is approved and scientifically tested to help eliminate or reduce the frequency, severity, and/or duration of headaches, including migraines. Botox can also reduce symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light, sound, and smells. It may take 1–2 weeks to experience relief after treatment. Injections can be performed approximately every 3 months for continued effect. Our dermatologists have successfully treated many migraine sufferers with Botox over the years.
